9)Thank You for Supporting Westwood — Enjoy a Special G

—we truly appreciate your support. As a small token of our appreciation, we’d love to offer you 35% off your spring cleanup and mulch installation. It’s our way of giving back while supporting our Westwood Elementary community.

With both my daughter and Andrew's (from Goodmark) daughter attending the school, this cause is very close to our hearts. Like you, we want the best for our kids—strong programs, great teachers, and a community where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

The PTO plays a big role in making that happen. Behind the scenes, it’s powered by parents who step up to help create events, fund programs, and support the school in ways that go far beyond the classroom.

If you’ve ever considered getting involved, this is a great opportunity. The PTO is always in need of parent volunteers—whether it’s a little time here and there or helping with events, every contribution makes a real difference.

Thank you again for being here and supporting our school community—we truly appreciate it.

Spring clean up is crucial for maintaining a healthy lawn, and here's how we ensure our homes stay in top shape:

1. Deadheading Plants: Removing spent flowers not only keeps your garden looking tidy but also encourages new growth and blooms.

2. Picking up Sticks: Clearing sticks and branches prevents them from obstructing your lawn mower and allows for even mowing.

3. Blowing Out Flower Beds: Using a leaf blower to clear out debris from flower beds ensures good air circulation and reduces the risk of pests and diseases.

4. Raking Up Debris: Removing dead leaves, twigs, and other debris from the lawn prevents suffocation of grass and encourages healthy growth.

5. Weeding Flower Beds: Regularly pulling out weeds helps maintain the aesthetic appeal of your garden and prevents them from competing with your plants for nutrients and water.

6. Edging Flower Beds: Neatly edged flower beds not only look pleasing but also prevent grass from encroaching into your garden beds.

7. Edging Walkways and Driveways: Crisp edges along walkways and driveways give your lawn a polished look and prevent grass from spreading onto paved surfaces.

8. Mowing Turf: Cutting the grass to the appropriate height promotes denser growth and discourages weeds. It's essential to mow regularly and not remove more than one-third of the grass blade length at a time to avoid stressing the lawn.

By diligently following these steps during spring clean up, I ensure that my lawn stays healthy and vibrant throughout the growing season.

9.
Mulching Flower Beds: Mulching provides numerous benefits for your garden beds. Mulch helps to retain moisture in the soil, which reduces the need for frequent watering and helps plants withstand dry periods. It also suppresses weed growth by blocking sunlight from reaching weed seeds, preventing them from germinating. Additionally, mulch acts as insulation, keeping the soil cooler in hot weather and warmer in cold weather, which promotes healthier root development. Applying a layer of mulch to your flower beds after spring clean up not only enhances the appearance of your garden but also contributes to the overall health and vitality of your plants.

About us

The art of landscaping has been in the Torres family since 1975. Our founders and uncle, Arturo Torres and brother Carlos Torres(our father who you might recognize from our website), established themself as a trustworthy and reliable landscapers who serviced well over 1,000 residents in the Chicagoland area. They later went on to start additional landscape companies in efforts to grow the family name. One of which became Bolder Lawns.

We are proud of the name and legacy of the Torres family. In efforts to carve our own identity, brothers and owners Joel and Isaac Torres established Bolder Lawns. Our deep-rooted passion, design skills, natural troubleshooting abilities, and ingenuity provide the foundation for this family-run business. Our strong commitment to community involvement and giving back is ingrained in the backbone of our business
